By now, you’re either wondering what’s up with the CBD and hemp hype, or you’ve given in and joined the movement. If you’re still trying to figure out what it’s all about, we’ve got just the thing for you.

You’ve probably heard all of the supposed benefits of CBD oil. From relief of anxiety and depression, to pain management and acne treatment, it’s no wonder that more and more beauty companies are introducing CBD-infused products to their collections. But why exactly is becoming such a hot topic in the beauty industry? What’s in it for us?

Claudia Mata, the cofounder of Vertly, told Allure it has to do with CBD’s anti-inflammation properties and natural source of vitamins A, D and E. That explains why we’re seeing more and more facial lotions and serums containing CBD. Not only can it work to help alleviate the inflammation caused by acne, but a study found that it may also work to regulate the production of oil in the sebaceous glands.

Not only may it help replace nasty acne topicals and pills, it’s may reduce your Tylenol intake. Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, CBD oil can be applied as a topical in areas where you’re experiencing pain and work to reduce the inflammation and discomfort.

To top it all off, we’re starting to see CBD facials available. With all the benefits listed above, we’re dying to try it out. Tora Northam gives a review of her experience over on Hypebae.

“After 20 minutes and a head massage which drifted me into a pre-sleep state, the mask came off and on came a selection of CBD-infused serums and moisturizers … And just like that, an hour had passed and I was ready to get back up and conquer the world.”

With quotes like that, we’re scrambling to find a spa that offers a CBD facial so we can experience it for ourselves.

What do you think about all of the CBD hype? Are you ready to jump on the bandwagon, or do you think it’s just a phase? Let us know in the comments!
